Scripture Meditation: Taking Back Your Power In The Present Moment. Based on Ecclesiastes 3:1
6:10

It's time for our Scripture meditation, where we hit the pause button on the distractions, worries, and the to do list of life and tune into God's word, applying it to our life right here, right now, in the present moment for this day and the week to come. So here's your cue that it's time to get centered and focus on Him.

Get your body in a comfortable, safe space and let your mind relax as you focus and take in some cleansing breaths that let the tension on the exhale release. Ground yourself in the present moment, releasing the tension as you breathe in and out, and get ready to focus on God's Word.

Today's meditation is based on Ecclesiastes, 3:1 which says, "To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die. A time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted. A time to kill, and a time to heal. A time to break down, and a time to build up. A time to weep, and a time to laugh. A time to mourn and a time to dance."

And while there are other nuances to this verse and different things to reflect on and the context of the whole book of Ecclesiastes and all of that, for this meditation I want to give you the concept of being where you are and leaning into that, rather than because it may feel not so pleasant wanting to be through with the season. I mean, that's natural and that's okay. But sometimes just acceptance of this is how I'm feeling right now, where I am, this is where I am. And if I can deal with the fact that this is where I am, then I can figure out what to do with this. God and I together can handle what is happening this day. This day I get to choose to serve God. This day I get to walk with God and figure out what next steps to take this day.

My questions for you as you meditate on this scripture are:

Are you in a place where you are trying to hold on to something and it's actually a time of letting go because that can cause some disturbance. So take a moment and think about what are you trying to hold on to that it's really time to let go of?

Secondly, what are you avoiding admitting that you need to step into?

And thirdly, what are you resisting that would give you more freedom and peace to accept? When we bury our head in the sand and just hope that the things that we don't like just go away, we may be missing an important time of taking back our power and stepping into what God has called us to do. It might be speaking truth in a difficult relationship. It might be setting boundaries. It might be saying enough of being taken advantage of this way. This will not continue, or this is a new beginning.

What are you trying to hold on to that it's time to let go of? What are you avoiding that you need to step into? And what are you resisting that would give you more freedom and peace to accept?

To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to break down, and a time to build up. A time to weep and a time to laugh. A time to mourn and a time to dance. Leaning on God right where you are and being real about right where you are is where you have power.

Because today is the only time you'll ever live in this present moment. Go take on the day!
